At Inovi, our doctors and fertility practitioners are specialists who are trained in diagnosing and treating complex and difficult causes of infertility.
Before your appointment you will need to collect the following information and relevant medical data for your reproductive endocrinologist. This step is a very important part of your first visit that helps you and your doctor plan the next part of your fertility evaluation and treatment, and save you valuable time.
WHAT TO EXPECT AND BRING
The following is a guideline of materials and information for both partners need to supply:
- If possible, menstrual cycle tracking, duration and history
- Dates when you began trying to conceive
- Tests results pertaining to both partners
- Previous pregnancies, losses, dates and circumstances
- Prior fertility testing and results
- Current medications
- Medical diagnosis and history, especially ones affecting fertility
- Documentation of any previous fertility treatments
- Previous surgeries and dates
- Notebook to record information from your visit
- Any relevant questions you have
We highly encourage you to bring your partner, spouse, friend or significant other to either the first or second visits. This ensures that you have someone outside our office to support you and be aware of the process and treatments.
It is also important that you complete the new patient information materials. You will also need to bring your insurance card and information, driver’s license and doctor’s referral if available.
You will also want to discuss with your employer or insurance company the details of coverage. We can also assist you with verification of your benefits.
Meeting your Specialist
You will meet with your reproductive endocrinologist and other fertility team members on your first visit. We encourage you to share your details, questions and experiences that led you on the path to Inovi. Our doctors and staff are great listeners. We do not rush you; we want you to feel at ease and comfortable to discuss your journey toward parenthood.
Once all your information has been reviewed, your doctor will provide his recommendations and treatment plan. This is also the time you receive information about the various treatment options for your condition. Testing typically includes hormone testing, ultrasound and imaging studies, and a semen analysis.
